santiago city, isabela...

..."is a beautiful place of beautiful people." do you still remember hearing that over the radio? dwip-fm started along these words during its early years.

following are random snapshots of the city now:

calao bridge which back then was always under improvement. a monument was erected on the triangular park on the left, fronting the old ice plant beside the iglesia ni cristo. the left hand side deviates towards the provincial/city road.

on the right is ala moana building next to the nelbusco bus terminal which used to locate the old pantranco station.

the national highway towards northeastern college and the public market.

on the right is the '4 lanes' road. this road cuts through the former pantranco bus terminal, and connects to calaocan and malini.

the view of the central terminal from the calaocan/malini side.

the buildings making up the central terminal

the entrance of ULS high school department. on the left was the former teresita food court which was inside the coseng residence. on the right is the corner of the heritage building built where the swampy or paddy-like frontage was. there were tall ilang-ilang and mahogany trees aligned by the fence.

the heritage building. it houses land bank and banco filipino. there is a branch of liberty store, cindy's fastfood, and offices among others.

the road to the south gate of ulshs, fronting south central school. this was more known as the road leading to the public cemetery.
